Terms of service

These terms cover your use of mailcontact.app: the website, the waitlist, and the demo environment. mailcontact is operated by an independent developer based in France. By using the site you agree to these terms; if you don't agree, please don't use it. Questions are welcome via the contact page.

The service is in beta

mailcontact is a beta product that has not launched yet. Everything on this site (the demo, the form endpoints, the demo email addresses) is provided as-is and as-available, with no service level agreement, no uptime guarantee, and no promise that features will keep working or keep existing in their current form. Things may change, break, or be reset without notice while we build toward launch.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use mailcontact to:

• send spam or unsolicited bulk messages of any kind;
• submit, store, or relay content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• abuse the open endpoints, for example by flooding form endpoints or demo email addresses, probing for vulnerabilities, or circumventing rate limits;
• impersonate other people or misrepresent where a message comes from.

We may block traffic, remove content, or cut off access that violates these rules, without prior notice.

The demo is a sandbox

The demo environment (currently accessible by invitation only) exists so the product can be tried before launch. It is a sandbox: whatever you type into it is stored in a demo database, can be reset, and is periodically purged. Do not submit sensitive data: no passwords, payment details, health information, or anything you would mind losing or having wiped. Demo data carries no expectation of durability or confidentiality beyond what our privacy policy describes.

Waitlist and accounts

Joining the waitlist means giving us an email address so we can tell you when mailcontact launches. You can ask to be removed at any time via the contact page. When accounts open at launch, they will come with their own terms; nothing on the waitlist obliges you to sign up or pay for anything.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, mailcontact and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or missed messages arising from your use of the site or the demo. This is a free beta service; your main remedy if you are unhappy with it is to stop using it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves, in particular at launch, when paid plans and accounts arrive. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that can't be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts. If you have a problem, please talk to us first via the contact page. Most issues are quicker to fix than to litigate.
