Privacy policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

mailcontact is operated by an independent developer based in France. This page explains, in plain language, what data the site collects, why, who processes it, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, ask us via the contact page.

What we collect

  • Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit. Nothing else.
  • Contact messages. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your email address, the name you optionally provide, and the content of your message.
  • Demo content. The demo environment (currently accessible by invitation only) stores whatever you type into it (test messages, form submissions, emails sent to demo addresses) in a demo database. Treat it as a sandbox: do not put real personal or sensitive data in it.
  • Analytics events. Page views and basic interactions, collected with OpenPanel, a privacy-focused analytics tool. No advertising trackers, no cross-site profiles.
  • Server logs. Standard technical logs (IP address, request path, timestamps) used for security, rate limiting, and debugging.

Why we collect it

To let you know when mailcontact launches, to answer your messages, to make the demo work, and to understand which pages people visit so we can improve the site. That's the whole list. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

Cookies

The demo sets one functional cookie, mc_ws, whose only job is to keep your demo workspace separate from other visitors'. The analytics script does not rely on tracking cookies. Because we only use functional cookies and cookieless-style analytics, no consent banner is required, and you won't find one here.

Who processes your data

  • Formspree relays the waitlist and contact forms. Email addresses submitted there are processed by Formspree on our behalf.
  • Cloudflare routes inbound email for demo addresses via Cloudflare Email Routing.
  • Our hosting provider runs the site and the demo database, and generates the server logs described above.
  • OpenPanel processes analytics events (the script is loaded from openpanel.superposed.io).

These providers act as processors; none of them use your data for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist emails are kept until launch or until you ask to be removed, whichever comes first.
  • Demo data can be reset by you at any time and is periodically purged by us.
  • Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request.
  • Server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Send your request via the contact page and we'll handle it directly: there is no support ticket maze, it's one person reading the inbox.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the date at the top. The current version always lives at mailcontact.app/privacy.
