Why mailcontact exists
mailcontact is an indie project built by a developer with too many side projects and, until recently, no good way for anyone to reach them.
It does one thing: every project gets a contact inbox, fed by a form endpoint and a real email address, with a ping wherever you actually are.
the story
Built out of mild frustration.
Every launch needed the same plumbing, rebuilt from scratch: a form endpoint wired up here, an email alias forwarded there, and notifications nowhere, so messages sat unread for days in whatever inbox they happened to land in. Multiply that by every side project and it stops being a chore and starts being the reason people can't reach you.
mailcontact folds that plumbing into one thing. Each project gets a single inbox with two doors in: an HTML form endpoint you can point any <form> at, and a real yourproject@mailcontact.app address that works the moment the project exists: no DNS records, no mail server, no verification wait. When a message arrives, a channel you already watch (Discord, Slack, email, or a webhook) pings you.
That's the whole product. It's deliberately small, and it intends to stay that way.
