A StaticForms alternative that gives your project an email address too.

StaticForms started as a tiny free service: an access key, an action URL, and submissions forwarded to your email. It has grown into a fuller product on a new domain, staticforms.dev, with a dashboard, paid plans, integrations and spam tooling. The free plan is still generous, and if you only need a form on a static site delivered to your mailbox, it still does that for nothing.

mailcontact starts from the project rather than the form. Every project gets a form endpoint and an email address, [email protected], and both feed one inbox where you read and answer. The comparison below is for people deciding whether the address and the inbox are worth paying for, or whether a free forwarder is enough.

qu’est-ce que staticforms

StaticForms, dans des conditions équitables.

StaticForms (staticforms.dev, formerly staticforms.xyz, which now redirects) is a form endpoint: register for a free API key, point your form at api.staticforms.dev/submit, and submissions arrive by email and in a dashboard. Checked on 28 October 2026, the Free plan is $0 for 250 submissions every 30 days, with a year of storage, the last 30 days visible in the inbox, email notifications only, honeypot and reCAPTCHA v2, and no file uploads. Starter is $6/month, or $4/month billed yearly at $48, for 3,000 submissions, 1 GB of file storage, Slack, Telegram and Discord alerts, webhooks, autoresponders and reCAPTCHA v3, hCaptcha, Turnstile and Altcha. Pro is $9/month, or $7.50/month at $90 yearly, for 25,000 submissions, 5 GB, Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable and Mailchimp sync, a Zapier app, form rules and 3 team members. Agency is $19/month, or $16/month at $192 yearly, for 30,000 submissions, 10 GB and unlimited members. Pro and Agency can opt into overage at $1 per 1,000 extra submissions; Free and Starter simply stop at the quota.

It is a well-priced form product with a real dashboard, which is more than its reputation as a bare forwarder suggests. The gap is the same as with every forms-only backend: no inbound address, and replies happen in your own mail client.

notre avis honnête

Quelle option choisir ?

Choisir StaticForms si…

  • You want a free form forwarder with a dashboard and 250 submissions a month, and nothing else.
  • You need file uploads, which StaticForms stores from Starter at $6/month and mailcontact's endpoint does not accept.
  • You push submissions into Google Sheets, Notion or Airtable and want the sync built in.
  • You run high volume: 25,000 submissions for $9/month is a lot of forms.

Choisissez mailcontact si…

  • People need to be able to email your project, not only fill in a form.
  • You want to answer from where the message arrived, from an address that belongs to the project.
  • You keep several projects going and want an inbox each, with Slack or Discord pings.
  • You want ChatGPT or Claude to read and triage the inbox through MCP.

FAQ

Quitter StaticForms : vos questions

How do I migrate a form from StaticForms to mailcontact?

Replace the action URL api.staticforms.dev/submit with your mailcontact form URL and remove the hidden accessKey field; mailcontact identifies the project from the URL. Fields keep their names. StaticForms-specific hidden inputs such as replyTo or redirectTo have no effect, so delete them. If you relied on the redirect to a thank-you page, submit with fetch for now, since the configurable redirect is not available yet.

What does StaticForms do better than mailcontact?

Free volume, uploads and sync. Its free plan takes five times as many submissions as ours, Starter adds file storage, and Pro syncs to Sheets, Notion and Airtable, none of which mailcontact does. It also offers four CAPTCHA providers on paid plans, where mailcontact runs a single server-side check you cannot swap. If your form is the whole product, StaticForms is hard to beat on price.

How do the prices line up?

StaticForms Free is 250 submissions every 30 days; Starter is $6/month or $48/year for 3,000. mailcontact Free is 50 messages a month on one project; Pro is €9/month or €90/year for 10 projects, 1,000 messages, inbound addresses and replies; Plus is €29/month for 50 projects and 10,000 messages. mailcontact counts received messages and sent replies together, StaticForms counts submissions only.

Does mailcontact have a dashboard like the StaticForms inbox?

Yes, and it is the centre of the product rather than a log. Each project has an inbox where form submissions and emails to the project address appear as conversations, with read state, replies and sharing with a client or teammate on Pro and Plus. StaticForms' inbox shows submissions; it cannot show a reply you sent, because sending is not part of it.
